Abstract:
Eczema is an inflammatory skin condition and studies show that it is commonly found in African Americans and children. Social health inequities play a role in this, because of age and race. Social and Economic inequities play a big role in this because of the asthma that can sometimes develop while having Eczema and the expensive health care and medicines that people in poverty can’t afford.

What are the effects of environmental and genetic factors on Eczema?
Atopic dermatitis, also referred to as Eczema is a commonly known skin disease in children and small adults. It can happen to anyone, at any point of time in their lifespan. It can range from a few weeks, to a few months and can even be a lifelong thing. People with Eczema may experience: rashes, dryness, flakiness, bumps, fissures, peeling, redness and very bad itching. Triggers in a person’s environment may cause the eczema to flare-up and become worse. Triggers such as: the climate, dust, pollution, your wardrobe and even the detergent you use can have a big influence on your eczema. Eczema isn't caused by one gene, but a combination of many. Researchers have came to a conclusion that yes, eczema is hereditary but is not willing to show up in every generation or even a whole family because of these different gene combinations. Treatment includes avoiding soap and other irritants and triggers. Certain types of cream or ointment may also provide relief from itching.
